Our History (How it all started)
The Foldaway House™ was born out of adversity when its creator, Rajan Harinarain witnessed a terrible fire at a squatter camp. It left the place ruined and the victims destitute. He determined to invent something that would provide fast relief against their exposure to the elements.
Thankfully, he succeeded in that noble ambition.
'I am glad that finally an innovation has been developed to replace tents as a means of accommodation following disasters. For tents do not enable privacy. They do not enable the provision of services such as electricity, sanitation and water.
They do not provide a habitable environment for living where the health, education and social needs of people can be met, in the short-term' - National Minister of Housing, Dr Lindiwe Sisulu
